Secrets of Watercolour!


A 10 week course with artist and tutor Paul Morin.

Develop your confidence in the following areas…

  • How to lay down graded washes

  • Which brushes to use

  • How to simplify a scene

  • How to use a limited colour range

  • How to paint an expressive cloudy sky

  • How to choose a suitable scene

  • The ‘wet-in wet’- technique

  • How to paint lines more confidently

Subject matter to include:

Landscape/seascape

Wildlife painting

Skies

Buildings/street scenes

T he course is suitable for beginners and intermediate attendees.

COST: £50 per person for 2 hour x 10 week evening class – starts 9 September 2021

Our Writing Group are participating in the Buxton Fringe Festival 2022 and, unlike last year they will be live upstairs at Rems on 7th and 17th July. Tickets from TicketSource.


Thanks to everyone who entered the Chapel Arts' 2022 Short Story Competition with the theme 'Isolation' and congratulations to the winners. The winning story was written by Vanessa Horn, with Sally Brown's story in 2nd place and John Wilkins' story placed 3rd. Follow the links to read the beautifully crafted works.


Our humanitarian appeal concert for the Ukraine refugees, featuring the Tree of Crows was a great night and raised £1545. Thanks to everyone who attended the event, or helped on the night and to the individuals and Chapel businesses who donated raffle prizes.
