As in previous years, Chapel Arts Creative Writing Group will contribute to the Buxton Festival Fringe.

On Thursday July 7th, 7.30-9.00 pm, and Sunday July 17th, 2.00-3.30 pm, we’ll perform poems, stories, monologues and sketches that we’ve written on the theme “Reconnecting”.

The venue will be the upstairs room in Rems Café, 52 Market Street, Chapel.

Tickets (£5; £4.50 concession) can be booked via Ticket Source.

Think of all the ways in which you can interpret “Reconnecting”. Renewing relationships with friends and family as we come out of Covid lockdown is only one possibility. The Creative Writing Group has thought of this – and many, many more!

Chapel Arts was formed to encourage the development of a broad range of arts in the Chapel-en-le-Frith area. Whether you are interested in Literature, Performing Arts, Film or Visual Arts and Crafts we hope you will find something to interest you and will come along to our events.

Our Writing Group are participating in the Buxton Fringe Festival 2022 and, unlike last year they will be live upstairs at Rems on 7th and 17th July. Tickets from TicketSource.

Thanks to everyone who entered the Chapel Arts' 2022 Short Story Competition with the theme 'Isolation' and congratulations to the winners. The winning story was written by Vanessa Horn, with Sally Brown's story in 2nd place and John Wilkins' story placed 3rd. Follow the links to read the beautifully crafted works.

Our humanitarian appeal concert for the Ukraine refugees, featuring the Tree of Crows was a great night and raised £1545. Thanks to everyone who attended the event, or helped on the night and to the individuals and Chapel businesses who donated raffle prizes.
